“Before you get creative, you need to get comfortable”

It’s no secret that today’s youth are eager and quick to grasp modern technology.  Becoming acquainted with today’s digital tools will let kids creativity flourish and give them a jump start in the multimedia industry! In this basic course, aspiring musicians will learn the essential ingredients for high quality digital audio recording. With an introduction to basic Digital Audio Workstation software, and time to get hands on experience in a professional recording studio, participants will spend the day recording professional musicians and each other (if they are brave enough to step in front of the mic!!!) This course is recommended for young adults with a strong interest in computer technology. Participants will benefit from previous musical instrument experience.

• Setting up click tracks
• Monitoring a headphone mix
• Recording and layering
• Mix basics
• File formats, rendering, & exporting
• Microphone use and placement
