Intro To Mastering

“One step further in the never ending quest for that sound”

In order to create professional sounding recordings that hold their weight on multiple sound systems, then you’ll need to understand the process of mastering. Led by mastering engineer, Blake Bickel, this course will walk students through the fundamental concepts involved in mastering. Participants are introduced to processes like Multi-band compression, Limiting, Expanding, Maximizing, Normalization, Stereo image processing, and more.

If you’re sick of home recordings that sound great when you’re making them, but fail to translate into real world listening environments, then this course is for you.

  • Optimizing your levels
  • Multiband compression
  • Using EQ & filtering
  • When to master & when to re-mix
  • Normalizing & limiting
  • Compression & expanding
  • Stereo image processing
  • Sample rate conversion
